Bug and Penny

Life as a House Cat

A little about myself: I have two cats. One is named Bug, and the other one is named Penny. Both cats spend the majority of their days in peace, with a remarkably set routine. On this webpage, I want to share a little bit more about what their day to day looks like -- exactly what makes Bug and Penny so special and cute.

A LITTLE BIT ABOUT US

Bug and Penny are siblings, adopted from the same litter. Both cats were found in a ditch (sad), the kittens of a local stray and her baby daddy. The kittens were trapped by the woman who runs my neighborhood's local bookstore. The woman was able to trap both Bug and Penny, and brought them to her bookstore to treat for medical issues and then put up for adoption to all of her book-loving customers.

My family came across Bug and Penny when my mom and younger sister visited the book store. Both immediately fell in love with the cats, who were barely 3 weeks old. My parents agreed we could adopt both cats who were the LITERAL CUTEST.

We brought both cats home and kept them in a Pack N'play© to keep them from disappearing -- they were both so small! My twin brother was able to carry a kitten in each pocket of his bathrobe. He would occasionally wander around the house with both cat heads sticking out of the pockets of his robe. The cats are so small they feel safer when they have a higher vantage point.

PERSONALITIES

BUG
Bug is definitely more of a social being. He delights in being the center of attention. Bug tends to embody the attitude of an alpha cat -- he dominates the room, especially when there is food involved. Because of that he also weighs 7 pounds more than our other cat, Penny. Overall Bug is a sweet and chunky little man who is the object of everyone's affection.

PENNY
Penny is smaller and thus more afraid. In Penny's case, for every pound she is lighter than Bug, she's a level more skittish. Honestly, if she doesn't vibe with you, then she probably never will. No stranger has ever been approached by Penny, and the only way you will ever pick her up is by force. Although she comes off afraid, she is very intelligent (although tbh both cats are dumb because they are inbred). Penny is more adventurous and very, very CUTE.
